Geoffrey Treissman has been a Yoga and Meditation Teacher and Healer and is co-author of Handbook of the Aura. He is an inspirational artist specializing in creating images for meditation and healing. Geoffrey has been producing mystical images for thirty seven years. Those familiar with his work have commentated on both the healing and calming qualities of his paintings.
Guardian of the Crystal was inspired by the artist's deep interest in the idea of crystallization at the spiritual level combined with his childlike fascination with the many beautiful crystals found in nature. Here, the guardian is surrounded by a crystal Mandala. She generates healing energy from the magnificent sapphire held at her heart. The original 92cm x 70cm was done on Ingres paper using pastels. Cosmic Angel Geoffrey was inspired to create this image after many profound experiences during meditation and healing sessions. The original painting 39cm x 27cm was done on wood using a blend of Caran D'ache pencils and gouache. A small photo of this angel was sent to a woman in hospital who was suffering from bowl cancer. She placed the print of the angel above her bed. Several days later her doctor noticed that her health had improved. Although she was in her late eighties and the prognosis was not good she put her improvement and well being down to the intercession of the angel. Golden Angel Geoffrey was inspired to celebrate twenty five years of continuous healing work with his angel. Knowing that many had benefited from this being's light, it was his heartfelt desire that motivated him to create this portrait so that others might be inspired by the majesty of angels and their work with us on the inner planes. Here, the angel penetrates the physical layers of our planet in order to bring light, peace and healing into the world. Blue Angel was commissioned by collector of mystical artworks. Here the angel's expression is subtly different from the Golden Angel in that the eyes are wide open and the face expresses a particular innocence instead of just bliss as seen the previous picture. Angel of Light Geoffrey had a vision of this entity twenty five years ago after leading a peace meditation. It subsequently became his guardian angel and he has worked with the being ever since on an intercessionary basis to bring healing and peace into the world. Amethyst Angel was inspired by the waveband of energy linked with intercessionary prayer. Geoffrey was trying to convey the concept of an Angel manifesting from a vortex of pure energy. Mystic Yogi was created after meditating on emptiness and how the realization of this state of being might be reflected in the body of yogi as he experienced the transformation from ego mind to cosmic consciousness. Diamond Descending was inspired by galvanic changes in the artist's life. He was moved to paint the sense of solitariness experienced by the spiritual aspirant when embarking on a difficult path when everything is cut to the bone and one is exposed to the true nature of being. The Master was conceived after meditating on Christ and the concept of the Bodhisattva ideal and the wavebands of energy associated with compassion and healing. At the foot of Spiral Mountain was inspired by the symbology of the mountain and mankind's spiritual journey. Having made the arduous climb up to the temple in the sky the figure returns with the precious jewel of wisdom. Then the hermit carries the sacred globe to light their way in the darkness of the jungle. The original painting 85cm x 69cm was done on Ingres paper using mainly pastel. Fire Puja was inspired after a meditation on cleansing fire. The spiritual aspirant visualizes a cauldron on which they pile all their fears and unpleasant and negative thought processes and then observing them being consumed in the cleansing fires, thereby cleansing their mindstream/psyches of all negative impulses. The fire Puja may Also used for cleansing the environment of negative forces. The original 60cm x 50 was done on paper using Vinyl Acrylic paint. Light of the Pharaoh This was one of a series of paintings done to celebrate the life of Laneta Gregory. Geoffrey was inspired by the concept of the light of wisdom living on after death. The original painting 90cm x 69cm was done using mostly pastel on Ingres Paper. He blended baby oil with the pastel colours to create a fluid background. Birth of a Planet Ever since a child Geoffrey was inspired by the night sky and the stars. Whenever he was sad and things were difficult at home he would look up at the heavens and take refuge in the stars. This interest in astronomy and astrology grew as he became an adult. Egyptian Healer was another of the series of works inspired by the life of Laneta Gregory. Here the symbology is concerned with the spirit of healing and the feminine principle of receptivity. The picture depicts the woman using the power of mantra to heal the world, whilst the pyramid symbolises the mind as transformer of creative energy. Guanyin is also known as the Bodhisattva of compassion. Geoffrey was inspired to paint this image in order to celebrate the life of Laneta Gregory who died in 2001. Laneta was co-author with him of Handbook of the Aura and she was an exceptional healer, counsellor, philosopher, psychotherapist and compassionate human being. Skydancer This painting was inspired by a meditation on the theme of the Phoenix. In the west it was regarded as a symbol of resurrection whereas in China it was associated with good omens, sincerity, righteousness, humanity, and integrity. The ancient Chinese regarded it as a spiritual/heavenly creature and it was a symbol of the empress and the element of fire. Buddha in the Land of Bliss. This painting was inspired by a meditation on an offering to the Buddha. Buddhists regard the concept of a "Pure land or Land of Bliss" as a destination where ordinary beings could aspire to or go to after death. Beings could come to this "Pure Land" without first becoming pure or enlightened. Once there they could receive instruction from the perfect teacher in the person of the Buddha. In this land, the conditions would be ideal for study, practice and eventually enlightenment. Here, this image also expresses a sense of spaciousness and transcendence.
